If I Were a Cunning Collectivist

"Be a good little sheep, and wear your muzzle!"

Collectivists hate individual freedom. Despite their propaganda, they despise personal liberty. At their core, they are solely about accruing power by denying souls their agency. Or, at least, inhibiting their agency as much as possible, through any means necessary.

The most powerful weapon in the collectivist's arsenal is deception. By lying about your choices, the collectivist can easily limit your agency.

If I were a cunning collectivist, I would use deception to make you believe you had only two choices:

Either you're a selfish person who doesn't care about the well-being of others; OR

You're a compassionate patriot who is willing to make some small sacrifices for the good of the collective.

This is the false choice presented today by the "true believer" types who give you the stink-eye for not wearing a mask.

It's an evil false dichotomy, and I hope we can all be wise enough to not fall for it. The reality is that there are many reasons for not complying with the face-diaper rules, ranging from solidly-scientific (the harmful health effects) to the mental health problems caused, to basic common sense, to the simple issue of freedom.
